The 2018 New Music Festival features Canadian composer, sound artist and keyboardist Nicole Lizée. Known for creating new music from an eclectic mix of influences including the earliest MTV videos, turntablism, rave culture, Hitchcock, Kubrick, 1960s psychedelia and modernism, Lizée is fascinated by the glitches made by outmoded and well-worn technology. Offering a wide spectrum of chamber, electroacoustic, opera, jazz and orchestral music, master classes and a composers’ forum, the festival will explore Lizée’s ever-evolving oeuvre and contemporary creativity.
Events are free unless noted otherwise. Visit the Faculty's Upcoming Events listing and filter by "NEW MUSIC CONCERTS" for individual event details.
