Presentation by Dr. Kornel Wolak:
In the Oral Dynamics Lab at the University of Toronto, speech scientists and musicians work together to shed light on how skilled clarinet players control different parts of the tongue when articulating notes across registers. In today's presentation, Dr. Kornel Wolak describes how we collect data with Electromagnetic Articulography (EMA). EMA has allowed us to perform cutting edge research in the field of speech motor control for over 20 years and shows to be a promising tool to explore articulation in clarinet playing.
