The 2020 New Music Festival features Brazilian pianist, composer and arranger André Mehmari. A stellar list of guest artists includes Emmanuele Baldini, Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa and the Penderecki String Quartet. Join us for 10 days of concerts, workshops and master classes as we celebrate new music.

- Thu Jan 16 at 7:30 pm: the Orquesta de Camara de Valdivia (Chile) will not be performing at the André Mehmari Chamber Works concert
- Fri Jan 17 at noon: Face to Face concert has been cancelled
- Fri Jan 17 at 5:10 pm: Lecture by Woemn on the Verge will now take place in Room 330 of the Edward Johnson Building at 80 Queen's Park, not Walter Hall

Biography
André Mehmari is considered one of Brazil's leading musicians. His activities as pianist, composer, and arranger are highly regarded in both popular and classical music. As his compositions have been performed by leading orchestras such as Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo and chamber ensembles such as the São Paulo String Quartet, his career in jazz and Brazilian popular music has attained wide attention with performances Brazil's major jazz festivals and also abroad. Having released more than 20, Mehmari created expressive duets with musicians such as Antonio Meneses, Hamilton de Holanda, Monica Salmaso and Gabriele Mirabassi among many others.
