PhD student Hussein Janmohamed conducts Nai Children's Choir for 2018 Serenade! Choral Festival

PhD student Hussein Janmohamed conducted CultureLink's Nai Children's Choir in the first live Canadian performance of his commission Rise Children, Let's Rise to Peace!, July 1 at Toronto's Aga Khan Museum. The new commission was from Classical Movements through the Eric Daniel Helms New Music Program, specially written for the choir for the 2018 Serenade! Choral Festival honouring the 100th anniversary of the birth of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Hussein has been working with the Nai Children's Choir for the past several months as guest conductor, composer and artisitc advisor.
