Biographical Note
Gerald Robinson, a native of Barrie, Ontario, graduated from The Juilliard School in 1976 where he was a student of Harold Goltzer. His other teachers include Wayland Mosher, Norman Tobias and Nicholas Kilburn, all of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. After playing for the National Ballet of Canada on their extensive tours of North America from 1976 to 1978 Jerry joined the York Winds, a well known Canadian woodwind quintet, with performances across Canada, the Mideast and Europe. He returned to the National Ballet Orchestra in 1989. For more than twenty years Jerry has been principal bassoonist of the Esprit Orchestra as well as fulfilling the duties of personnel manager and librarian.
