U of T Music alumni make up almost a quarter of this year's classical '30 under 30' list

Each year CBC Music inducts 30 talented, young, Canadian classical artists into its '30 under 30' list. This year, seven Faculty of Music graduates (violinist Alice Hong, pictured, is also a current doctoral student) made it onto the list.

Congratulations to Alice Hong, violin, Julia Mirzoev, violin, Charles Sy, tenor, Jarred Dunn, piano, Simona Genga, mezzo-soprano, Emily Kruspe, violin, and Brayden Friesen, trombone, on this well-deserved recognition.

Before appearing on CBC's sixth annual list, many in Toronto's classical music community and beyond were well acquainted with these seven emerging stars who've won multiple awards - from the Faculty of Music's Norcop Prize in Song and Graduating Awards, to the COC CentreStage and Chopin International Competitions - and impressed audiences both at home and internationally.
