Held Together by Glitter Tape: Sustainable pARTnerships SSHRC-funded event

On March 12th, a shimmering constellation of local and international artists presented an evening of fragments and frequencies stitched into a living patchwork with sonic glue, improvisation, and artistic kinship. The night was a SSHRC Connection-funded research collaboration between Sustainable pARTnerships research collaboration, and co-sponsored by the School of Cities’ Creative Communities Common (CCC). It was produced by Prof. Nasim Niknafs (Associate Dean, Research; Music Education), Dr. Ely Lyonblum (Research & Partnerships Office) and alumn Adrian Berry, 

Hosted at the Tranzac Club, the evening included multimedia performances, trans-sensory offerings, and joyful, collective experimentation. A collage of sound, story, movement, and shared memory-making, Held Together by Glitter Tape was the culminating celebration of Open Aesthetic Assemblies: Echoes of Sensory Possibility — a year-long series of intimate, performance-based gatherings shaped by Indigenous and Black feminist, transmedia, and creative practice, co-curated by Prof. Maria Hupfield (Canada Research Chair, Indigenous Digital Arts and Performance), Olivia Shortt(alumn, Indigenous Creation Studio Artist in Residence), and SA Smythe(Associate Professor of Black Studies and the Archive at the Faculty of Information).
