Bravo to Prof. Farzaneh Hemmasi (Ethnomusicology) on receiving a 2025-26 School of Cities Urban Challenge 4.0: Inequality, Data, and Democracy Grant in the category of Humanities: Democracy Focused Grants for the project titled “Keeping and Creating Kensington Market’s Cultural Spaces.” This collaboration between the Kensington Market Community Land Trust, Prof. Hemmasi, anthropologist Dr. Emily Hertzman (Senior Researcher, Ethnography Lab) and Scott McCallum (candidate, Master of Architecture) will support the KMCLT’s initiative to collect data on land and property use within Kensington Market, and the creation of an online digital map to represent this data in an accessible, interactive form.
