University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir released its debut single, “Do You See Them?”
November 28, 2025
On Friday, November 14, 2025, the University of Toronto Faculty of Music Gospel Choir released its debut single, “Do You See Them?”, now available on all online digital music platforms!

This recording was a collaborative project with intersections between the performance (gospel choir and strings), composition, and music technology divisions.
The song, which draws awareness to the social issue of poverty and homelessness, was co-composed, co-produced, and co-arranged by Aaron Manswell (U of T DMA Composition candidate) and Dr. Darren Hamilton (U of T Music Education Professor and Director of the Faculty of Music Gospel Choir). "Do You See Them?" was recorded at the Faculty of Music's Electronic Music Studio, with Dr. Denis Martin (U of T Music Technology Professor) and Dulce Martinez (U of T M.Mus. Music Technology & Digital Media student) taking helm with engineering the project, and students in the Introduction to Music Recording undergraduate class serving as production assistants. Dulce Martinez also mixed and mastered the recording.
Students in the gospel choir course contributed their voices, while a student string quartet consisting of Elianna Van Raalte, Kai Schulz Rousseau, Meika Sonntag, and Caitlyn Liu performed strings on the recording.
Congratulations to all the students and faculty involved in this project!
