2016-17 marks the 70th anniversary of the Music Education Program at the Faculty of Music. There are two exciting ways for Music Alumni to participate in this very special event!
 


FACULTY OF MUSIC ALUMNI BAND and CHOIR REUNION
 
Celebrating 70 years of Music Education
 
SATURDAY, JANUARY 21, 2017
7:30 pm performance
 
Featuring alumni with
Wind Ensemble, Dr. Gillian MacKay conductor
and
MacMillan Singers, Dr. Hilary Apfelstadt (MusBac 1974) conductor
 


ALUMNI BAND OR CHOIR MEMBER
Please join us – we are looking for wind, percussion, and string performers and singers!
 
Registration is free. Please contact by Monday, January 9 with your instrument to Alumni Development Officer Tyler Greenleaf at tyler.greenleaf@utoronto.ca or 416-946-3580.
 
Itinerary
1:30 – 5:00 pm – rehearsal with break
5:00 – 7:00 pm – dinner break (you are on your own)
7:30 pm – performance 
Post-performance reception in main lobby for for all performers and attendees
 
Concert repertoire will be distributed in early January:

  • “When Sun Comes After Rain” by Matthew Emery (current Master’s student), arranged by Evan Hammell (current 4th year student)
  • “Hannaford Overture” by Scott Irvine (BMus 1989)
  • “When Age and Youth Unite” - Godfrey Ridout (Professor, 1948-1982), text by Claude Bissell (UofT President 1958-71)
  • “Ave Verum Corpus” - Imant Raminsh (MusBac 1966)
  • “Here’s a Health to the Company” - Irish folk song, arranged for band and strings by Dr. Lori-Anne Dolloff (PhD OISE 1994, MMus 1989, BEd 1984, MusBac 1983)
