John Hess is the recognized authority on contemporary opera and song in Canada. Hess was the co-founder and co-artistic director of the Queen of Puddings Music Theatre and has served as Associate Artistic Director of the 20th Century Opera and Song program at the Banff Centre for the Arts. Equally in demand as a vocal coach and pianist, Hess has worked regularly with Ben Heppner in Canada and with many other Canadian singers and instrumentalists. He has recorded numerous CDs, including the complete vocal works of Canadian composer Harry Somers.
