Tuesday Noon Series

The 3rd year Oratorio class, led by Mia Bach, presents From Requiem to Light, a journey through arias highlighting the broad spectrum of the human experience as seen through a wide-ranging selection of sacred and spiritual works in the genre. Through a multimedia presentation of imagery and vocal and instrumental performance, this year's performers will illuminate themes of mercy and compassion found in texts ranging from ancient Aramaic to recent texts addressing current societal challenges. The program pays homage to the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, featuring multiple textual and symbolic references to women and several works by women composers.
