Faculty Services and Supports

The Faculty of Music Research Office supports the growth and expansion of funded research, scholarly and creative activities in the music community. Our goal is to help researchers access the resources and supports that are needed to conduct cutting-edge research and create world-class artistic works.

The Office provides project development supports and services, grant application preparation support and editorial reviews, and assistance with research partnership development. The Office further supports faculty in their development and delivery of teaching and learning activities through teaching awards and grants, both internal and external to the University.

Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation (VPRI)

The Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation (VPRI) has the expertise and connections to help researchers at every stage, by providing advice and resources. Working with Faculties and affiliated hospitals, the VPRI is the administrative support hub for U of T's research and innovation activities.

Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS)

The mandate of the Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS) is to provide researcher-centred, practical and coordinated supports to faculty and divisional research offices. CRIS is a partnership, launched by the Division of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation, The University of Toronto Libraries, and Information Technology Services.

U of T Funding Opportunities Database

This searchable and sortable database provides information for the U of T community members who are interested in searching available and upcoming research funding opportunities. The table may be filtered by sponsor, program, date, grant type or by any keyword or research area. In many cases, “funding opportunities” link to more detailed sponsor/program information and guidance documents.

Pivot Funding Opportunities Database

Pivot is a comprehensive international funding database to which the University of Toronto (U of T) subscribes on behalf of faculty. The database provides you with a curated list of funding opportunities as based on your departmental appointments, research interests, publication and granting history, and other profile information. Pivot is a multi-functional website that allows you to:

  • Receive weekly email notifications of new and updated funding opportunities, as based on profile information
  • Conduct and save advanced funding searches which can include Canadian and international funding opportunities
  • Share funding opportunities with colleagues
