Dr. Shirantha Beddage is a JUNO-nominated baritone saxophonist, composer, and Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies at University of Toronto. He has released three critically-acclaimed albums as a leader, and has recorded with Laila Biali, the Order of Canada band and many others. He currently performs as the leader of his own quartet, and as an ensemble member in the Carn-Davidson 9 and John Macleod’s Rex Hotel Orchestra. This performance will feature a program of original compositions, including new works from his upcoming album, “Travels”.
