BIOGRAPHIES
Christine Wang
Christine Wang is a violinist in her fourth year at the University of Toronto, pursuing a Bachelor of Music in violin performance under the tutelage of Annalee Patipatanakoon. She began her musical journey at the age of six with Mandy Zhao, and has also received instruction from other highly regarded musicians such as Simon Blendis, Peter Manning, Levon Chilingirian, Luri Lee, Aaron Schwebel, Erika Raum, Mark Fewer, Nancy Dahn, and Marianne Dugal. She has also had the honour of playing in masterclass for many esteemed violinists such as Mihaela Martin, Jonathan Crow, Vadim Gluzman, Min Jeong Koh, Boris Begelman, Simone Porter, and Olivier Charlier. She attended Unionville High School as a student of the Arts Unionville Strings program and was concertmaster of the UHS string orchestra in her senior year, with having the opportunity to perform the third movement from the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in concert. At UofT, she has previously served as section principal of the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Christine has participated in several summer training programs, including Domaine Forget de Charlevoix, Tuckamore Music Festival, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. She has also won several awards, including the Royal Conservatory of Music gold medal for level 10 violin, three gold medals from the International Music Festival and Competition, and has been the recipient of both the Arthur Plettner Scholarship and the Kathleen Parlow Scholarship twice during her time at UofT. After graduation, she will continue on to pursue a Masters in Music in violin performance at the Royal College of Music in London.
Antonia Cambre
Toronto-born cellist Antonia Cambre fell in love with the cello as a toddler and began lessons at age four. Since then, she has found her voice as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra member, having explored a variety of genres and styles of playing. Antonia studies under Paul Widner at the University of Toronto, majoring in classical performance. Antonia is a graduate of the Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists, where she studied under David Hetherington and was the principal cellist of the Academy Chamber Orchestra. She has performed in masterclasses for renowned
soloists Maxim Vengerov, Ray Chen, Amanda Forsyth and Bryan Cheng. Passionate about orchestral music in particular, Antonia has been a member of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra and the Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra, with whom she had her soloist debut in 2022. Antonia performed at the National Commemorative Ceremonies for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip, the 2021 Sweetwater Music Festival in Owen Sound, and as a winner of the 2019 Don Banks Music Awards. She has also participated in various summer learning programs, including Domaine Forget de Charlevoix and the uOttawa Summer Strings Academy.
Daniel Zhou
Daniel Zhou is a fourth-year undergraduate student in the Piano Performance program at the University of Toronto, where he studies with Dr. Midori Koga. An avid ensemble musician, Daniel has performed as a bass singer with the University of Toronto MacMillan Singers and as a cellist with the Mississauga Symphony Youth Orchestra. His strong interest in new music has led to collaborations with the Blank Canvas Sound Collective and the min-MAX Electroacoustic Orchestra as a pianist. He has attended music festivals such as the Orford Music Academy, and has played in masterclasses for Boris Berman, John Burge, David Jalbert, and Stephan Sylvestre. Beyond music, Daniel is concurrently pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Physics at the University of Toronto.
