U of T Percussion Ensemble presents Blue Lullaby

Ryan Scott, director
Hoi Tong Keung & Chi-En Wong, teaching assistants

The Percussion Ensemble concerts are made possible in part by a generous gift from Ann Atkinson.

Step into a night of fantasy where sound and imagination intertwine. Blue Lullaby invites you on a mesmerizing journey through vibrant sonic landscapes, featuring
works that blur the line between dream and reality. From the evocative whispers of Luigi Nono’s Con Luigi Dallapiccola to the playful ingenuity of Caroline Shaw’s
Taxidermy, each piece weaves a spellbinding tale.

This night also marks the world premieres of Menelaos Peistikos’ Blue Lullaby and Hsiu-Ping Patrick Wu’s Stenography—two stunning new works that transport
listeners into realms of mystery and wonder. The program continues with the fluid beauty of Bob Becker’s Water Lilies and concludes with the pioneering spirit of
Johanna Beyer’s Percussion Suite
