Prof. Mark Campbell receives BRN Ignite Grant

Congratulations to Prof. Mark Campbell (Musicology) on receiving the Black Research Network’s (BRN) Ignite Grant. Exploring formal and informal preservation strategies – from institutional libraries to performance and remix – Prof. Campbell’s project will expand notions of what might constitute a hip-hop archive. Through a series of professional development workshops, Prof. Campbell’s lab will understand and develop skills in archival sound production and live music recording. The project also aims to produce dub versions of the rich history of hip-hop radio in Toronto.
