Biography

Alejandro Céspedes, MMus, is a University of Toronto Faculty of Music alumnus. He has performed with ensembles such as the National Opera and Ballet Orchestra of Cuba, the Toronto Symphony, as well as multiple theatre and dance companies. As an educator, he has been a guest clinician for orchestral percussion, steelpan, Latin and body percussion at conservatories and universities throughout North America. Alejandro formerly served as Events Manager at the Royal Conservatory of Music. In that role at RCM, he was the project creator of the Music Fair and he led the event strategy of the Certificate Program at international conferences. Additionally, he planned and executed RCM’s annual Recital and Award Ceremonies at Carnegie Hall, as well as Convocations both virtually and in person at Koerner Hall, Bella Concert Hall and Chan Centre for the Performing Arts. Alejandro was the Ceremonies & Communications Coordinator at York University where he planned convocation ceremonies and coordinated everything related to ceremony protocol and production. He was also responsible for managing Institutional Ceremonies, Special Guests, and Stewardship Events.
