Biography

Montreal born and Toronto raised, Neil Gonputh has been an employee with the University of Toronto since 2003. During that time he has worked in several departments in both HR and Finance roles. He was a member of the Financial Advisory Services and Training (FAST) team where he advised the UofT community on the technical aspects of the AMS (FIS) system and interpretation of the UofT financial policies. He holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Windsor, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) with a major in accounting and a minor in finance from Ryerson University (Toronto Metropolitan University) and a Certificate of Completion in the FIS standard curriculum from the University of Toronto.
 
Philanthropy is also a part of Neil’s life. He was one of the founding committee members of the United Way GenNext organization in Windsor, ON and has worked with not-for-profits like the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health (Sandra Rotman Center), Grand Challenges Canada and the Fields Institute. In the private sector Neil has worked in the financial departments of the Canadian headquarters of the former Sears Canada and the Canadian headquarters of the former DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Canada.
 
Neil is also an active member of the Faculty’s Tenor-Bass Chorus and a former clarinettist.
