Biography
Prior to joining the University of Toronto in 1990 as Dean of the Faculty of Music, Paul Pedersen had been a teacher at Parkdale Collegiate in Toronto,Music Director at Camrose Lutheran College in Alberta, and at McGillUniversity had held the positions of Dean, Associate Dean, Department Chairman, and Director of the Electronic Music Studio. He also produced over 30 discs as Director of McGill Records. He studied composition with Murray Adaskin and John Weinzweig, and the psychology of music with Douglas Creelman and Daniel Berlyne. He has published articles on the psychology of music and has composed music for various media including symphony, oratorio,solo, chamber, choral, and electroacoustic music. He is a member of the Canadian League of Composers and an Associate of the Canadian Music Centre.
