Biography

Rebecca Shaw is the Music Archivist at the University of Toronto Music Library. Prior to joining the Music Library team in 2019, she received her Master of Arts (MA, 2019) and Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS, 2018) from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia. In addition to her work as an archivist, Rebecca manages the Differentiae Database as part of an ongoing SSHRC-funded project, the Digital Analysis of Chant Transmission (DACT), which studies the dissemination of plainchant using new computational resources and existing chant databases. As an archivist, Rebecca enjoys working with donors and researchers to ensure the preservation of, and continued access to, materials that are integral to the story of music and musicians in Canada, particularly as they related to the University of Toronto Faculty of Music.
