Shahana Abutalib

Biography

Shahana Abutalib is a PhD student in Musicology at the University of Toronto. Her research interests include music of the medieval Islamic world, musical automata, and perceptions of music and Islam in early modern Europe. She holds an MA in Ethnomusicology from the University of Toronto and has studied the dizi at Toronto Metropolitan University.
