Duties & Responsibilities of the Research Office
The Research Office at the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto is part of a university-wide network under the leadership of the Division of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (VPRI). Our research mission is structured around intersecting themes of academic research, research-creation, community engaged-research, as well as equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
We are also the only division across all three campuses that directly supports our students’ research, grant applications, and career development – our student voices strengthen the Faculty’s research impact and inform future initiatives. We are also uniquely positioned to advance the University’s newly developed Strategic Research Plan (2023–2028), thanks to a diversity of research practices our members conduct within the Faculty. Our subdivisional- and area-related academic research includes research in performance, composition, technology and digital media, as well as ever-growing public-facing scholarship.
