W.A. Mozart’s towering collaboration with Lorenzo da Ponte is considered his operatic masterpiece. Don Giovanni’s timeless brilliance lies not only in its magnificent score but in its latitude for theatrical interpretation. We are delighted to announce that the UTSO’s Uri Mayer will conduct this new production sung in the original Italian. Don Giovanni is designed by Melanie McNeill (set), Lisa Magill (costumes) and Siobhán Sleath (lighting), and directed by Marilyn Gronsdal, who previously staged the Faculty of Music’s highly successful productions of Handel’s Alcina and Mozart’s La finta giardiniera.
