Visit by Jay Dasent
On September 18, Students in Dr. Antía González Ben’s graduate “Sound Studies and Music Education” seminar and guest visitors were joined by Jay Dasent, a visually impaired music producer, audio engineer and accessibility consultant from Trinidad, now based in the U.K. Jay works in several areas of the music industry including production, advertising, film and post-production; and as consultant with music equipment manufacturers on accessibility features. Jay also teaches music production and audio engineering to disabled and able-bodied students at Kingston University, London and abroad. This visit was made possible in part by support from the Toronto Music Entrepreneurship Exchange (TOMEE), and in collaboration with Dr. adam patrick bell, Canada Research Chair at Western University.
