Western University Postdoctoral Fellowship announcement

Rena Roussin has been awarded a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at Western University from 2025-2027. At Western, Rena will continue research and writing for her book project, Positioning Opera in Canada: Identities, Indigeneities, Intersectionalities, which examines how the contemporary opera sector in Canada is working towards reparative relationality with equity-deserving communities. Rena will also be continuing her commitment to public musicology, serving both as musicologist-in-residence for the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and as a co-curator for a planned 2028 exhibit at the National Arts Centre, commemorating the fortieth anniversary of In the Land of the Spirits, Canada's first Indigenous-led ballet.
